STP Community News Leadership Test and QA Membership Automation Life Cycle Development Software Testing

 Software Test Professionals (STP) is hosting an industry roundtable event featuring Bala Muller. Bala will discuss processes and approaches;  security testing; new areas like mobile application testing;  along with the approaches to technology within testing that has been effective in real life scenarios. Bala will be accompanied by Rich Hand, Director of Membership & Publications at Software Test Professionals. Rich will open the meeting with an overview of STP and the introduction of Local Interest Chapters (LIC) to the New York / New Jersey market.  LIC’s are groups of software test and quality professionals in your region who come together to network, improve careers, share knowledge and expertise.  

 This engaging Roundtable discussion will include one of Software Test Professionals Strategic Advisory Board members, Bala Mullur, Vice President of Vertex Computer Systems. Bala will present for discussion the key business components of financial institutions, and the unique testing aspects of each. He will discuss processes and approaches,  security testing, new areas like mobile application testing,  along with the approaches to technology within testing that has been effective in real life scenarios.

 

 With the increasing complexity of financial systems, changing regulatory compliances combined with the increasing demand for new features, the needs to ensure the quality of these solutions is even more critical.  To deliver such solutions and maintain high quality,  requires commitment to testing  and the willingness to invest in new approaches and processes. Efficient testing is key to testing complex software systems, and helps you manage the risk of delivering business critical systems.  

Please join us as we discuss the challenges around Testing software systems in the financial industry. This will be an interactive session and we want you to share your ideas, challenges and learn about technologies and developing solutions in the market place.

 Bala Mullur has been software industry for over 25 years. His experience in testing covers a wide-spectrum of applications ranging from Electrical and Mechanical CAD applications, complex Electronic Design Automation solutions to IT software systems including embedded software systems,  CRM and ERP systems. An Electrical Engineer from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, Bala has started his career as a software developer in the EDA industry. He is currently with Vertex Computer Systems,  and spearheads the Verification services, providing services to Financial, Consumer goods and Medical industries. He is passionate about Quality and is constantly looking identify new markets to develop Test solutions.

 

The meeting will take place at Robert Half Technologies at 245 Park Avenue, 25th Floor from 1:00 to 3:30 PM, Wednesday June 16th. This is a FREE and open meeting to software test and quality professionals, developers, business analysts, and anyone involved in the Software Development Life Cycle.

An informal follow-up reception will be held after the meeting for individuals interested in volunteering to become Local Interest Chapter officers.

 Seats are limited to this free roundtable event and will be first come first served.
