BEIJING, CHINA June 8, 2010 - Conformiq, Inc., a worldwide provider of software test design solutions, today announced an OEM partnership with Elvior to create the world’s first vertically integrated model-based testing platform. Under the agreement, Elvior licenses Conformiq Automated Test Design™ core technology to create a model-based testing solution that works in conjunction with Elvior’s TTCN-3 test development and execution platform, to be called TestCast™.
“We have worked with Elvior in a number of TTCN-3 testing projects and have enjoyed the collaboration. This OEM deal is significant because it enables Elvior to roll out a vertically integrated, round-trip Automated Test Design, execution and analysis stack. Connecting Elvior’s TTCN-3 solutions with Conformiq’s leading Automated Test Design technology creates a compelling testing package that neither company could create on their own. We are confident that this product will set the standard for automated TTCN-3 test design in 2011,” says Antti Huima, president and CEO of Conformiq, Inc.
Elvior announced that their new generation TTCN-3 test tool incorporating Conformiq’s test-generation technology will be named TestCast MBT and is expected to be available by the end of the year. TestCast MBT will be a single, integrated design environment for modeling the expected behavior of a system, automatically generating TTCN-3 tests, compiling and executing them against the actual system under test, and analyzing the results.
“Integrating TTCN-3 model-based test generation and test executive into one single toolset is the next logical step in providing users with the best TTCN-3 model-based testing experience,” says Dr. Andres Kull, founder and CEO of Elvior LLC. “Elvior replaces its current TestCast Generator, formerly known as MOTES, with Conformiq’s best-in-class test generation technology to provide higher value for its customers. This new solution offers a unique user experience by making their TTCN-3 testing highly productive.“
“In recent years, TTCN-3, or testing and test control notation, embodying decades of testing and standardization experience, has established itself globally as the language of choice for acceptance testing and certification, most recently in the Indian and Chinese markets. Recent successes include the ongoing conformance test suite developments for Long Term Evolution terminals in telecom and AUTOSAR in the automotive space,” says Stephan Schulz, CTO of Conformiq, Inc. and chair of ETSI’s Technical Committee Methods for Testing and Specification (TC MTS). “The integration of Conformiq technology with a powerful and standard-compliant TTCN-3 tool set like TestCast will make the benefits of Automated Test Design more accessible to these very interesting markets.”
Elvior is a Platinum Sponsor of the TTCN-3 User Conference (T3UC) in Beijing, China, on 8-9 June. T3UC is an annual event that brings together the TTCN-3 community. T3UC 2010 is co-organized by the BII Group and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). It will feature tutorials and presentations from members of the TTCN-3 user community as well as keynotes from invited speakers.
Elvior recently announced the release of a new TTCN-3 test development and execution platform, TestCast. TestCast is a successor to Elvior’s previous TTCN-3 test tool, MessageMagic™. TestCast represents the release of the 6th generation test tool. It is a full-feature test environment that compiles and executes TTCN-3 tests, and provides means to analyze the test runs. It is a single comprehensive test platform for professional TTCN-3 testers that can be used for testing software or hardware components in a wide range of industries.
About Conformiq Automated Test Design™
Conformiq recently announced the availability of Version 4.2 of the Conformiq tool suite. The suite consists of Conformiq Modeler™ for visually describing test requirements, and Conformiq Designer™ for generating test cases, with future additions to the suite under development. The Conformiq suite automates the design of functional tests for software and systems, a traditionally manual and time-consuming task. Software tests are generated from high-level models, and published in human-readable and executable test scripts in customizable formats including HTML, XML, Python, Perl, TCL, Visual Basic, and TTCN-3. The models describe the products being tested and can be created in a fraction of the time needed to construct the corresponding test cases by hand. Conformiq’s suite of tools allow users to define their own output formats, making seamless application on existing proprietary test execution and management platforms simple to do.
