SARATOGA, CA - May 28, 2010 - Conformiq, Inc., a worldwide provider of software test design solutions, today announced that Antti Huima, CTO and technology architect for Conformiq, has been elevated to the position of president and CEO. After working with Conformiq for more than eight years in key roles such as managing director, chief scientific officer and CTO, Mr. Huima’s ascension to CEO fulfills the strategic vision of the board of directors to have a technologist lead Conformiq.

During Mr. Huima’s earlier post as the managing director for Conformiq Finland, the company established its first international office in Sweden and then relocated its headquarters to Silicon Valley. He has researched and implemented the original test generation core used in Conformiq Designer™ and still consults on its development. Respected in the academic community, he has also served on numerous international program committees and given several invited conference talks; he also taught regularly at Finland’s leading technology university until relocating to the United States.
Conformiq recently announced the availability of version 4.2 of the Conformiq tool suite. Conformiq also recently announced strong license sales in 2009. “The success of Conformiq 4.2, together with our expanded market presence, makes us confident that Conformiq is today the market leader in model-based testing tools,” says Mr. Huima.
Conformiq tools automate the design of functional tests for software and systems, a traditionally manual and time-consuming task. Software tests are generated from high-level models, and published in human-readable and executable test scripts in customizable formats including HTML, XML, Python, Perl, TCL, Visual Basic, and TTCN-3. The models describe the products being tested and can be created in a fraction of the time needed to construct the corresponding test cases by hand. The tools allow the users to define their own output formats, making seamless application on existing proprietary test execution and management platforms easy.
