I have an uncontrollable allergic reaction to metrics that I can't find any medicine at the store or on the street to counteract. It's based on a long personal history of seeing metrics being misused in corporate realms, especially for business critical decision making. That experience has made me hesitant/reluctant and paranoid about delivering any flat or easily misinterpreted metrics. However, I fully appreciate the need for information to support project-level decision making, so I'm on a relentless career-long search for metrics that do the job and "matter." Please help!
