Testing in agile teams is still one of the great mysteries of the agile world. In many organizations, testers are sort of marginalized or the testing is relegated to the developers. In others, the testers are active, but rarely understand or reach the full breadth and depth of their role.

In this workshop, we’re going to explore the practices and mindset of “fully empowered” agile testers on high-performance agile teams. Bob Galen and Shaun Bradshaw have been coaching agile teams for over 15 years, and they’ve seen it all – dysfunction to underperformance to high-performance. They’ll share with you real-world tactics that will help you guide your team towards higher performance.

For example, we’ll explore defect management, test planning, documentation, test development & execution in agile contexts. We’ll also look at different testing strategies covering risk-based, automated, exploratory, and other manual testing practices. But beyond all of that, Bob and/or Shaun will leave you fully armed with an agile testing mindset that will focus on whole team collaboration, respect, and results.

Meet Your Instructors

Bob Galen is an Agile Practitioner, Trainer & Coach based in Cary, NC. In this role he helps guide companies and teams in their pragmatic adoption and organizational shift towards agile methods of working. Bob has been doing that since the late 1990s, so he’s deeply experienced. He is the Director of Agile Practice at Zenergy Technologies, a leading business agility transformation company. Bob is also President and Head Coach at RGCG a boutique agile coaching firm.

Bob regularly speaks at international conferences and professional groups on topics related to agile software development, testing, scaling, and organizational leadership. He is a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), CAL I trainer, and an active member of the Agile & Scrum Alliances.
